About Me

Headshot of Peter Guenther

I'm a developer-educator transitioning into game development. My goal is to be a gameplay programmer or technical designer working on learning games.

I've spent 10+ years at the intersection of technology and education, including:

  • Training adult professionals to become software developers and AR/VR engineers
  • Managing a bootcamp learning team with two dozen members
  • Teaching game design and development to college undergraduates
  • Developing a cloud software-as-a-service platform to assist analytics
  • Implementing learning analytics for Fortune 100 companies
  • Teaching instructional and interactive design to graduate students
  • Teaching programming and game development to high school students

In the last few years, I took action on a lifelong dream and in May 2023 graduated from Michigan State University with both a Master's Degree in Game Studies and Design and a Graduate Certificate in Serious Game Design As you can see in my Projects section, in this program I've been able to serve as Game Designer and Programmer on significant projects.

Since graduating I've had the opportunity to teach game development. Recently I've taught:
